Call of Duty 4 - Cod4 But first ...

Hellgate London

This is one of the best games I have played, even I got tired of the maps, that looked to much the same

But said that, the game did offer FPS player's at real option for monster hunt game, as no other game has

and if there had been more maps and quests for the game, it would had been a game life time long game as Unreal Torunament,that have lasted for 10 years now

Since maps and quests offen is the most easy to add the game, I'm sure, if those who developed the game, the Flagship Studios people, had had more money, the game would rock the world of games as we know it today for ever.

But who says it have not ?
since they did prove that they could make the game, we who loved the game now have a, see this is what we want !

And make no mistake, many player's are looking for a Hellgate London replacement and if you listen,you can hear there hearts shouting, we want more Hellgate London NOW !!!

Some say that you just have to wait half an hour but here is what I have tryed !

The connection time out is a Flawed Setting put in game.
The Quick Fix:
1. Open Console. Do this by pressing the ~ key.
2. Now you will see a console window open on the top of your screen.
3. To Open a larger console hold SHIFT and press the ~ key. This will open the console on your whole screen.
4. In the console type in the following: /cl_connectionAttempts 180 The default value is 10 which is way to low.
The Permanent Fix:
1. Locate the config_mp.cfg file in the following directory:
Call of Duty 4playersprofilesYourName.
2. Open the files with Wordpad NOT Notepad.
3. Locate the following lines in the file.
seta cl_anonymous '0'
seta cl_freelook '1'
4. Between these 2 lines enter the following line.
seta cl_connectionAttempts '180'
5. It should look like this when you done.
seta cl_anonymous '0'
seta cl_connectionAttempts '180'
seta cl_freelook '1'
6. Save the file and you are done.
Connect to the server and you are done.

You cannot connect to any cod4 server, you get 'Awaiting key code Authorization' until the server times out.
Reason:
Cod4 cannot connect to the cod4 master server (could be dns related?) You can check this yourself by opening the console, you will see several failures to resolve cod4master.activision.com
The Fix:
Manually add the ip address and host name to your computers hosts file:
open: c:/windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts
Add this line to the file, save and exit.

P.S if the ip address for cod4master.activision.com changes then you will need to update the file.
AND remember to backup your hosts file before you modify it, just incase

and write in:

you can copy and past the: 'ping ttwio.org' then press return !
That have you ping
tracert: open dos prompt
and write in:
tracert ttwio.org
press return
you can copy and past the: 'tracert ttwio.org' then press return !

This info is if you run a server !
