There are multiple tabs which contains different buttons in Microsoft Word. It might be a time consuming when you search them from tab to tab. Is there a way to have your favorite buttons in one place? Can you create a custom tab in Microsoft Word? Can you customize the ribbon with the frequently used commands? Follow these steps and solve your problem.
1. Go to File tab at the top left.
2. Click Options at the bottom left.
3. The Word Options dialog box will display, go to Customize Ribbon tab.
What you can customize: You can personalize your ribbon to arrange tabs and commands in the order you want them, hide or unhide your ribbon, and hide those commands you use less often. Also, you can export or import a customized ribbon. Open the ribbon customization box from by right-clicking on the ribbon and choosing ‘Customize the Ribbon’: On the left is the list of available commands. The right side are the ribbons in Word, Excel or PowerPoint. Once a custom toolbar has been deleted it cannot be restored. You cannot delete any of the built-in toolbars. There is no way to attach or remove toolbars to documents and templates using VBA. If you want to make changes to an existing Word add-in you must open the add-in file before you start. To include a custom ribbon tab that has a command button to run a macro in your enterprise global template file in Project 2010, follow these steps: Steps to Create a custom macro. Start Project client. Start a new project. It's name is Project1. On the View tab, click the Macros drop down list, and then click RecordMacro. This feature works the same in all modern versions of Microsoft Word: 2010, 2013, and 2016. From the File menu, select Options. Select Customize Ribbon. Create a Custom Tab or Custom Group by selecting a tab on the right and then selecting New Tab or New Group. Note that if you create a new tab, a new group is automatically created as well.
4. Select New Tab, click New Tab (Custom) and then hit Rename to give it a name you prefer. Choose the commands to your customary use in the lift page on the left. Click Add and they will join New Group (Custom) automatically. Click OK at the bottom, and you will see a new tab appears next to Home.
